Why we are building
A larger home for Dharma activity in Sibu.
To continue the overseas Dharma activities of Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche and bring the precious teachings of Tibetan Buddhism to Malaysia, Namo Buddha Buddhist Society Sibu was established on 3 November 2006.
With the blessings of His Holiness the 17th Gyalwang Karmapa and Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche, the society has hosted prayers, teachings, empowerments, and ceremonies led by Rinpoches, Lamas, and Khenpos. As the community grew, the existing centre became too small and larger events often required external venues. The new monastery answers this need with a permanent, more spacious home reflecting Tibetan Buddhist tradition.

With prayers and blessings, community members, devotees, and spiritual leaders began a sacred journey toward a spiritual home for future generations — a place dedicated to Dharma practice and service.
